How much weight will I lose?

Actual weight loss depends on many individual factors, including your starting weight, health history, treatment plan, and lifestyle. Many Mint Med patients lose around 5% of their initial body weight, and in some cases, up to 10% over 12 weeks. For example, this could mean losing 10–20 pounds for someone starting at 200 pounds.

Every patient is different, and the most successful results typically come from combining medication with healthy diet and lifestyle changes.

Healthy, sustainable weight loss is often defined as 1–2 pounds per week. Rapid or extreme weight loss is not considered medically appropriate and is not the goal of treatment at Mint Med.

What weight loss treatments are available if I do or don’t qualify for a GLP-1?

If you're medically eligible, your Mint Med provider may prescribe a GLP-1 treatment. These medications work by slowing digestion, reducing appetite, and helping you feel full longer — all of which support gradual, consistent weight loss. GLP-1s are often administered as weekly injections and may also support blood sugar and metabolic health. However, GLP-1s aren’t safe or appropriate for everyone, especially those with certain thyroid, kidney, or gastrointestinal conditions.

If you don’t qualify for a GLP-1 or prefer a non-injectable approach, your provider may recommend the MintFit Kit. This is a customizable, non-GLP-1 option that can include medications like bupropion, low dose naltrexone, metformin ER, orlistat, and others — each chosen to support appetite regulation, insulin sensitivity, and fat metabolism. The kit can also include MIC + B12 injections to help with energy and metabolic support.

Both treatment paths are guided by a licensed provider based on your health history and goals. Whether you qualify for a GLP-1 or are better suited for MintFit, your plan will include month-by-month instructions, safety guidance, and secure access to your care team through the Mint Med patient portal.

What is compounded medication?

Compounded medications are custom-made treatments prepared by licensed pharmacies based on a prescription from a licensed healthcare provider. They are formulated to meet the specific needs of an individual patient — for example, by adjusting dosage, removing allergens, or combining ingredients not available in a single commercial product.

Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and do not go through the FDA’s pre-market review process for safety, effectiveness, or quality. While they are prescribed when appropriate and legally prepared by state-licensed or federally registered compounding pharmacies, they may differ from FDA-approved medications in terms of risks, side effects, and expected outcomes.

At Mint Med, compounded medications are only prescribed when deemed medically appropriate by your provider and are filled by verified, U.S.-based compounding pharmacies that follow strict standards.

What weight loss treatment options are available to me?

Mint Med offers medically supervised weight management options that are tailored to your personal health needs. After completing a medical intake, a licensed Mint Med provider will review your information and determine which treatments may be safe and appropriate for you.

Compounded GLP-1 may be prescribed if clinically appropriate. These medications work by helping regulate appetite, improving satiety, and supporting sustainable weight loss. Compounded medications are prepared by licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies and may be recommended when FDA-approved options are not suitable or available.

The MintFit Weight Loss Kit is a customizable, non-GLP-1 based program. Depending on your clinical needs, it may include low dose naltrexone, bupropion, metformin ER, inositol, or orlistat — medications that support appetite regulation, insulin sensitivity, and metabolic balance.

MIC + B12 injections combine key amino acids and nutrients like Methionine, Inositol, Choline, and B12 to support liver function, fat metabolism, and energy production. These may be used alone or alongside other therapies.

Vitamin B12 injections are often included to support energy, focus, metabolism, and red blood cell production. These injections may be recommended on their own or to complement other medications.

All treatments require a licensed provider’s approval. If treatment is not medically appropriate, you will not be charged.

Start with a free, no-obligation evaluation — payment is only processed if your provider approves a treatment plan.
